ZeniMax Acquires the id Software Company
In recent news, Zenimax Media announced that they have gained rights to id Software, best known for the creation of Doom, Wolfenstein, and Quake. This deal of course gives Zenimax the rights to publish games of these series and allows them to have access to id Software’s game catalog. All existing projects under from id will still be released such as the upcoming game entitled, Rage, but after that all games will be published under the name of Bethesda.
John Carmack, the founder of id Software says the acquisition will not effect any day to day operations and that things will continue as normal.
Todd Hollenshead, the CEO of id also says the merger allows the two companies to work together and share resources which enables the potential for much better games.
